Education for Life
Preparation for God’s Life Purpose…
Since 1976 the mission of Rockwell Christian School is to assist parents in the training, education, and spiritual development of their children for the glory of God. RCS is designed to be an extension of the Christian home and church, providing a continuity of training for Christian young people. We are dedicated to helping parents obey God’s command to them to bring them (their children) up “in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” Our goal is to provide a Christ-centered, biblically-based education in pursuit of academic excellence. We teach students that the principle thing in all of life is wisdom, learning how to apply spiritual truth to the issues and questions of life. A Biblical viewpoint in all areas of life is strongly stressed to each student during his years of training at RCS. RCS exists to train Christian young people in the highest principles of Christian leadership, academic studies, self-discipline, individual responsibility, personal integrity, and good citizenship. In addition to our focus on spiritual development and academic excellence, students have opportunity to develop in the areas of fine arts, athletic competition, and community and church involvement. Thus, our primary purpose is to train Christian young people to live for Christ in all areas of life—to fulfill God’s purpose for their lives. We are distinctively Christ-centered!
Rockwell Christian School established in 1976 is a ministry of Bethel Baptist Church, which is an independent, fundamental, local Baptist church. As such, the school believes, teaches, and practices the tenets of the church. RCS is founded on the authority of God’s Word, emphasizes the fundamentals of the Christian faith, utilizes a Bible-centered curriculum, and maintains a faculty of only born- again believers in Jesus Christ. In the fear of the Lord, and being led by His Spirit, we undertake by His divine leadership to be Christ-like in the training of spiritual knowledge, mental abilities (academics), physical behavior, and social attitudes.
We are dedicated to helping parents obey God’s command to them to bring them (your children) up “in the nurture and admonition of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4) and also His command to parents in Deuteronomy 6:4-7, “The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”
At the heart of our philosophy is the mission statement of RCS, which states: “The mission of Rockwell Christian School is to assist parents in the training, education, and spiritual development of their children for the glory of God.”
Our Statement of Faith
Inspiration and inerrancy of Scripture: We believe that the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God, and that it is both inerrant and infallible. We believe that the Bible is our only rule in matters regarding faith and practical living.
Creation and Total Depravity of Man: We believe in the Genesis account of creation in six literal, twenty-four-hour days. We also believe that man was created in the image of God, and that because of Adam’s sin man became a sinner by nature. Man is totally depraved and, of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition.
Deity of Christ: We believe in the Triune God eternally existing in three persons; the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in the Virgin Birth and Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Salvation by Grace: We believe that a person becomes a child of God by placing his faith and trust in Christ’s substitutionary death on the cross, and that the shed blood of Christ is the only atonement for sin.
Person and Work of Christ: We believe in the literal, bodily resurrection of Christ from the tomb and His ascension into Heaven. He is now the only mediator between God the Father and man.
Second Advent of Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ is personally coming again.
Eternal state: We believe in the eternal blessedness of the saved and the eternal punishment of all who reject Christ.
Separation of believers: We believe that a person who has personally accepted Christ as his Savior should live a life separated from the things of the world and should strive to live together in harmony with fellow believers.
Person of Satan: We believe that Satan is a person, the author of sin and the cause of the Fall of Man; that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man; and that he shall be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire.
Human Sexuality: We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. We believe that God disapproves of and forbids any attempt to alter one’s gender by surgery or appearance. We believe that the only legitimate marriage is the joining of one man and one woman.
Abortion and Euthanasia: We believe that human life begins at conception and that abortion is murder. Euthanasia including assisted suicide is murder.
Lawsuits between believers: We believe that Christians are prohibited from bringing civil lawsuits against other Christians or the church to resolve personal disputes.

To insure the continued growth of our school professionally, Rockwell Christian School is a member school of both the North Carolina Christian School Association and American Association of Christian Schools (an organization of 1,200 Christian schools across the country with similar philosophy and direction.) These organizations are dedicated to the development of quality Christian education, academic excellence, and the protection of Christian liberties at the state and national levels of government. It is by these associations that we are able to promote teacher development and remain abreast of current methods and materials. The AACS provides a certification program and the NCCSA provides in-service and seminar training annually for our teachers. Our students also benefit by enhanced and varied opportunities to compete and cooperate through the NCCSA with students from other Christian schools.
