Rita Howard
Mrs. Howard has worked in the pre-school program at Rockwell Christian since 1993. Prior to working for RCS, Mrs. Howard worked for two years Kiddie Care Daycare in Albemarle. She is a graduate of Central Cabarrus High School in Concord, North Carolina; Stanley Community College (Child Care Credentials 1 and 2) in Albemarle, North Carolina; and Friendship Graduate School (Graduate of Bible and Associates Degree) in Greenville, Kentucky. She continues her education with attendance at seminars on early child development. Saved and married in 1979, she is the wife of Pastor Mickey Howard of Tabernacle Baptist , Oakboro, North Carolina. They have three daughters and 8 grandchildren. She is currently a Sunday School teacher, Wednesday night youth group leader, and member of their church choir.
Jennifer Robinson
Mrs. Robinson has been K-5 teacher at Rockwell Christian School since 2005. Prior to teaching K-5, she was a teacher’s aid. Teaching children “is truly something that the Lord has put in her heart to do.” Not from a Christian family, she was brought to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ with the help of a co-worker who invited her to church. The Holy Spirit already had her heart prepared and approximately a month later she received Christ as her Saviour. She says, “Of all the wonderful things that have happened in my life being saved and changed is the single greatest part.” She currently teaches the teenage girls’ Sunday School class at Westside Baptist in Salisbury.
Myra Hiatt
In 1988 Mrs. Hiatt began teaching and assisting in Christian schools including Sunlight Christian Academy, Gospel Light Christian School, and now at Rockwell Christian School. She attended Carolina Bible College and Rowan Cabarrus Community College. Mrs. Hiatt currently is serving as elementary coordinator. Mrs. Hiatt was saved at the age of twenty-two when her heart was opened to the truth of salvation by God’s Word realizing that salvation is “not of works lest any man should boast” but “being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” She is married to Pastor Joel Hiatt of Westside Baptist Church in Salisbury where she teaches Sunday School, plays the piano and organ, and sings in a trio.
Kim Chambers
Mrs. Chambers’ has taught at Rockwell Christian School since 2007; however, hers is a very familiar face since she is a graduate of RCS. After being saved at the age of five, she was actually called to teach while attending high school at RCS. She received her BS in Elementary Education from Pensacola Christian College. Besides teaching third grade, she also teaches elementary Spanish, and coaches volleyball and cheerleading. As a member of Bethel Baptist Church, she works in the AWANA program and sings in the choir.
Tammy Brown
Mrs. Brown attended Tennessee Temple University and has an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Rowan Cabarrus Community College. Saved at the age of twelve while attending Camp Merriwood, she says that the Lord is her best friend. “He has been faithful to me. I thank Him so much for dying on the cross for me. I thank the Lord for letting me teach in a Christian School. It is a privilege.” At Landis Baptist, she helps with Sunday School, Bible School, and nursery ministries.
Nancy Patil
Mrs. Patil began teaching at Rockwell Christian School in 2006. She also taught one year at Lebanon Christian Academy in Pennsylvania. Through attendance at a Word of Life camp and the guidance of her mother, she came to know the Lord at the age of ten. She has earned her BS degrees in Home Economics and Elementary Education with a teaching certification. As a member of Bethel Baptist Church, she is involved in choir, AWANA, and the fellowship committee, and has been involved with teaching Sunday School, witnessing to new mothers, and working in the nursery.
